Dear Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to Benjamin Franklin Elementary  School!

Here at Benjamin Franklin we believe providing our students with a supportive academic environment will help them develop self-confidence and a desire to strive for excellence in the 21st Century. We also believe in fostering an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork. Students are encouraged to become good decision makers. They will learn our overarching expectations and will “Be A Bolt” by: Being Respectful, Owning our Choices, Leading with a Kind Heart, Taking Time to Listen and Learn, and focusing on Safety First!

We expect that all students will adhere to the expectations established in their homerooms and specialty area classrooms.  We also expect students to follow the district guidelines as cited within the district’s Code of Conduct.

We look forward to working with you throughout the year and continue to welcome and encourage home-school partnerships and open communications.

For 2024-2025 our school year theme is …

Lights, Camera, Learn!

Welcome to Bennywood, BEN BOLT Families!

Respectfully Yours,

It is with great excitement that I join the Edison Township Public Schools as the newly appointed Vice Principal of Benjamin Franklin Elementary School. It truly is an honor to become part of the Bolt community. I am looking forward to working with our dedicated staff, parents, and community to provide an exceptional educational experience for our students.

I was born and raised in Staten Island, New York and currently reside in Old Bridge, New Jersey. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Masters of Exercise Science Degree from Kean University and received my Masters in Educational Leadership from Georgian Court University in 2019.

I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than fourteen years. During this time, I have worked with students ranging in age from kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have 11 years of teaching experience as a Health and Physical education teacher. In 2022, I became an instructional coach of Restorative Practices. This position allowed me to provide a multitude of resources for students and teachers, while building a positive and supportive school community. Most recently, I served as Vice Principal in the Howell Township Public School District at Ramtown Elementary. Being in this role allowed me to work cooperatively with community members, parents, staff and most importantly students.

I am excited and committed to ensuring the continued success of both students and staff at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School.

Sincerely,

Mr. D’Avanzo
